Multiple agencies pursued armed carjacking suspect. K9 Landi saves the day!

St.Lucie County, Fl- Multiple agencies pursued an armed carjacking suspect Sunday night who allegedly pointed a gun at a deputy chasing him down I-95.

In an incredible story that started in Indian River and ended near Tradition. All our agencies working together.

Here are the details for accuracy from the Port St.Police who assisted:

You can run, but you can’t hide from K9 Landi!

Last night, PSLPD officers assisted Indian River County Sheriff’s Office, St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office, and Florida Highway Patrol after a pursuit that initiated in Indian River County terminated on I-95 near Tradition.

The sole occupant of a silver Acura was suspected of armed carjacking and pointing a firearm at a deputy during the pursuit.

At some point during the pursuit, the Acura crashed on I-95 near the SW Tradition Parkway exit. The suspect ran from the crash scene into a pasture near Cleveland Clinic Hospital.

Officer Miller and K9 Landi arrived on scene and quickly deployed. Martin County Sheriff’s Office Air Unit provided over watch as K9 Landi picked up the suspect’s track. K9 Landi located the suspect as he hid under a tree in the wood line. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.

After the suspect was apprehended, Officer Miller and K9 Landi also conducted an article search in the area as the Air Unit advised the suspect discarded items as he ran. K9 Landi located a black 9mm extended magazine in the mud along the canal bank.
