DANGEROUS DRIVER WITH HISTORY OF TRAFFIC OFFENSES TRIES TO HIDE LIKE A WORM TO AVOID ARREST #WrongExit
Roderick Phinizee, of Palm Bay, goes by the nickname “Worm”. But he was booked into the Martin County jail under his real name and as a habitual traffic offender following a reckless night on the road.

Roderick spent a short time in Martin County before he turned his Dodge Challenger around and dangerously blew through the streets at more the 125 miles per hour. Deputies attempted a traffic stop, but Roderick refused to pull over and headed straight for the interstate where multiple road patrol units and Air1 were waiting.
Roderick’s speed became such a danger to other motorists, deputies deployed stop sticks to deflate his tires. Once the vehicle became disabled, he bailed out of the car and ran into a wooded area. He then attempted to embed himself in the dirt, like, well you know…a worm. Despite his attempt to conceal himself, he could be seen from the air and had no where to run.
Roderick “Worm” Phinizee surrendered to deputies and was arrested on multiple charges, including fleeing and eluding and driving with a suspended, revoked or cancelled license with knowledge and resisting arrest. He was taken to the Martin County jail.
