A TIP OF THE HAT ON AN AMAZING RESCUE OF A WAYWARD FEELINE
It may have been the traffic, or just a wrong turn, but this wayward cat got in a little too deep as he made his way onto the Stuart causeway, then fell off the bridge landing on the wooden barricades below.

Citizens saw the animal in distress and notified MCSO. Marine Unit Sergeant Garret Lott spotted the cat clinging to the barricade, but at first attempt was unable to reach it. Community Operations Lieutenant Joe Collazo and Animal Services Officer Shannon McGee joined Sergeant Lott on his boat and with some work, successfully brought the animal to safer, higher ground.
A tip of the hat to all involved for going all out to save this frightened animal!
