PSLPD Investigates Shooting in the 11300 block of SW Stockton Place

The Port St Lucie Police Department worked throughout yesterday to process the scenes. Evidence at this point would suggest this incident was a targeted crime and not a random act of violence. PSLPD will have an increased presence in the area, but there is no immediate threat to the surrounding community.

At approximately 6:57 am yesterday morning, PSLPD received a call of a shooting in the 11300 block of SW Stockton Place. Upon arrival, officers located the 27-year-old male victim in the 11400 block of SW Kingslake Circle. The victim had been shot 3 times and was airlifted to Lawnwood hospital. The victim has since been treated and released. The victim was not a local rap star as speculated on social media.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was in his driveway when the suspect approached him on foot and fired multiple rounds from a firearm. The victim ran from the scene to the 11400 block of SW Kingslake Circle. The suspect fled in a blue 2018 Kia Optima which was captured on video surveillance. It appears that the suspect vehicle entered the gated community by driving around the front gate and onto the grass.

Crime Analysts were able to create a be on the look out (BOLO) for the suspect vehicle which was disseminated. Later in the evening, Broward County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) located the suspect vehicle in Ft. Lauderdale and detained 3 occupants. Two of the occupants were charged by BCSO on unrelated charges.

PSLPD Detectives interviewed the occupants of the suspect vehicle. Detectives also seized the suspect vehicle in order to serve a search warrant on it.

The investigation is active and ongoing. More information will be released as it becomes available.
