PSLPD Investigating Shooting on Buttercup & Rosser

Port St.Lucie, Fl- The Port St. Lucie Police is currently investigating a shooting in the 1600 block of SW Buttercup Ave.

Here are the details from the Port St.Lucie Police:

PSLPD is currently investigating a shooting in the 1600 block of SW Buttercup Ave. 

The preliminary investigation revealed that a child exchange occurred at the scene and during the exchange, the adult male resident and the adult male visitor had a physical altercation in front of the house. 

At some point, the male resident retreated into his home and the male visitor retreated to his vehicle. As the male visitor was at his vehicle, the male resident exited the home with a handgun and fired a shot at the male visitor, striking an unrelated vehicle. The male visitor was not harmed. 

The male resident is currently detained as PSLPD Major Crimes Unit Detectives conduct their investigation. 

There is currently no threat to the community. 

Please avoid the area as there is a high level of police activity.
