Palm City Man Charged with two counts of attempted murder after violent attack on Girlfriend and her Daughter

Martin County, Fl – The Martin County Sheriff has reported that have charged 60-year-old Shaun Doughery with two counts of attempted murder.

PALM CITY MAN CHARGED WITH TWO COUNTS OF ATTEMPTED MURDER AFTER VIOLENT ATTACK ON GIRLFRIEND AND HER DAUGHTER

Martin County Detectives charged 60-year old Shaun Dougherty with two counts of attempted murder after shooting his girlfriend and her adult daughter.  

The incident happened last night at condominium in a gated community off of Greenwood Way in Palm City.

The victims told detectives that Dougherty became enraged after a disagreement.  So he shot his girlfriend in the neck then in the leg as she tried to run. The victim’s adult daughter, who was in the home at the time, ran out of her bedroom after hearing the shots. Dougherty then shot her as she also tried to run.  Both women made it outside to a neighbors and called 911.

MCSO SWAT Team was called out and surrounded the home, forcing Dougherty out.  He was taken into custody.  Both victims were  transported to the hospital and are expected to recover.  

Shaun Dougherty was taken charged with two counts of attempted murder.
