Hit-and-run on Indian River Drive

St.Lucie County, Fl-This information was reported by our citizens not by Law Enforcement. This is the second event that happened on the drive in less than a week.

On December 26, 2023 a man was hit on his E-bike. He is now at Lawnwood in ICU with multiple injuries and not doing well.

According to witnesses there was a dark SUV that stopped then left.

According to witnesses the St.Lucie County Sheriff was there along with State Troopers.

I have more information but not comfortable posting. I just want to make people aware of the accident. I’m also waiting to hear from some folks with permission to post their comments.

The other thing that happened is for hours people drove all the down and had to turn around before Walton and drive back up.

I don’t think we are asking too much for this to be posted on local law enforcement. I’m sure this black suv is long gone. Also there needs to be some kind of “road closed” signage so people are aware. A simple post on social media would help keep people away from the area.

Please be careful driving out there.
