Here is the information from the Martin County Sheriff:
FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE, MEXICAN GANG MEMBER, FRESH METH FROM THE BORDER #WrongExit
In less than a week, Martin County Sheriff’s Special Investigations detectives along with Homeland Security Investigations, have made two large seizures of illicit drugs destined for the streets of Martin County. First fentanyl, and now meth. These large quantities of drugs have been linked directly to the drug trafficking crisis at our nation’s southern border.

The latest arrest, 39-year old Daniel Thorr Gatlin, a fugitive from justice, who relied on public transportation to get here carrying three pounds of high quality methamphetamine he said came from Mexico. Gatlin said he has been to Martin County before and feared coming back to sell such large quantities of drugs, but he did anyway. As a result, he’s looking at a new prison sentence and you are looking at his booking photo.
Daniel Gatlin, who is from Arkansas, was recently released from prison and is affiliated with a known Mexican prison gang. He is currently wanted on a warrant in that state for aggravated robbery.
In Martin County, Gatlin now faces a minimum mandatory of 25-years in prison for trafficking narcotics and has a bond of over one million dollars. He is being held without bond on his extraditable warrant in Arkansas.
The message here; the illegal drugs are pouring over the Mexican border into Texas and into your small town like never before. But MCSO is standing at the Martin County border waiting for those who are trying to get in to poison our streets. Unfortunately, because of the national border crisis, we are all now border towns. But this town is still the #WrongExit.
