Two arrested for “strong arm robbery’ in Fort Pierce

Fort Pierce, Fl – The Fort Pierce Police have reported the arrest of two males for “strong arm robbery.

FORT PIERCE POLICE ARREST 24-YEAR-OLD MALE AND 16-YEAR-OLD JUVENILE IN STRONG-ARM ROBBERY

On January 19, 2024 at approximately 6 p.m., Fort Pierce Police officers responded to the Hot Stop Mart at 1702 Avenue D in reference to a strong-arm robbery. Investigation revealed two males approached the 54-year-old victim, of Sebring, while he was placing money in his pocket. One of the suspects grabbed the victim and took his wallet and cash. Both suspects then fled on foot.

After viewing surveillance video of the incident, a Fort Pierce Police detective identified one of the suspects. Officers went to a residence in the 140 block of North 15th Street and located 24-year-old Max Pierre and a 16-year-old male, along with the clothing the suspects were seen wearing in the surveillance video. Both were placed under arrest and charged accordingly.

What is a strong arm robbery? Strong arm robbery differs from armed robbery in that alleged theft was done with violence, threats or force but without the use of a deadly weapon. This is considered an unarmed robbery.
