Martin County, Fl- A man from New York is accused of drunkenly slamming into an ambulance transporting a patient. When he tried to flee that scene, however, he allegedly crashed into a school bus packed with 35 children.
Here is the info from the Martin County Sheriff:
IMPAIRED DRIVER WHO FLED THE SCENE AFTER HITTING AMBULANCE TRANSPORTING A PATIENT GETS CAUGHT AFTER HITTING A SCHOOL BUS FULL OF CHILDREN
The ambulance didn’t stop him, but the school bus did. Fortunately, no children were injured yesterday when 43-year-old Joseph Saladino of New York crashed into the bus carrying 35 children.

Saladino got out of his car at the scene of the crash and didn’t know where he was. But deputies searching for Saladino’s car knew where he’d been because he crashed into an ambulance and fled the scene earlier in the day. Witnesses gave a clear description of the car that left the scene. It matched the car at the second crash scene, and Saladino was the driver.

Joseph Saladino was extremely concerned about going to jail because he said he needed to get back to New York. Those plans have been put on hold. Saladino was charged with DUI with property damage, leaving the scene of a crash, and leaving the scene of a crash with injuries. He was transported to the Martin County Jail.
The bus driver was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released from the hospital.
