Fort Pierce, Fl- The Fort Pierce Police are reporting a smuggling vessel transporting approximately 30 Haitian migrants ran aground in the Fort Pierce Inlet on Saturday.

A smuggling vessel transporting approximately 30 Haitian migrants ran aground in the Fort Pierce Inlet on Saturday.

Agents from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (Air Marine Operations and Border Patrol) are handling the incident, along with the U.S. Coast Guard and the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office.

All of the migrants are in custody and there is no danger to the surrounding community.

The Fort Pierce Police Department will continue to monitor the situation throughout the day.
