Monday Morning Update Feb 5,2024

Good morning! There is lots going on!

Last week was a wild week and I’m hoping we are back to relative calmness.

I just want to share some good info:

Help Mable’s Mission by eating at Chipotle on Tuesday, Feb 6th

Please help us raise money for our foster-based rescue by eating at Chipotle on Tuesday, Feb 6th between 4pm-8pm!

We need to raise at least $150 or we don’t get anything back so we really need your help. We pulled 4 dogs off of euth lists the past 2 weeks and 3 of them have medical that we need to take care off. 100% of all donations and money back to our rescue goes to the dogs. We can’t save them without you!

We truly hope to see you there between 4pm-8pm. Don’t forget to show the cashier a picture of this flyer!

I shot this video on Sunday Feb 4 -Florida & Dixie. Green light, lights flashing, gates up.

Did I proceed? No. Seemed like a nightmare out of a bad movie. The minute you go over the tracks the gates come down its adios car and life!

I did turn around and go another way. When I drove by five minutes later there was a Stuart Police office there.

Alicia Jay posted about Rat Poison

I found this beautiful lady red shouldered hawk gasping on the grass outside of my patio today. I scooped her up with a towel and took her to Treasure Coast Wildlife Rescue. They said she ate a rat who ate rat poison, and she was the 9th hawk, and there were two owls, in 2 days they’ve gotten. Please be mindful of your careless use of rat poison. It’s poisoning the very predators who would eat them. This was heart breaking, especially knowing that it’s completely careless and preventable.

You can find a Rat Zapper on Amazon.

Treasure Coast Wildlife Center is an amazing org. If we all made a small donation I’m sure it would help.

Hello Martin County, I would like to inform all who do not know that the Martin County Fair is just a few days away!

On Saturday, February 17th at 5:00 pm there will be a youth livestock market auction and my son, Tucker, is participating for his 2nd year. Tucker is in 6th grade and has worked hard on his project in hopes to raise top dollar for his Duroc pig. 🐷

We would like extend an invite to all who may want their freezer full of pork this year or to those who just want to come see these kids show off all their hard work!

This week’s City of Stuart Weekly is here! And this week we remind you about the City’s E-Waste Recycling Center—where it’s located and what items to recycle. AND we give you some tips on parking in Downtown Stuart Florida that you’re going to want to read!! https://cvcpl.us/eAxV9jp

Here are the ‘Cliff Notes’:

◾ Save the hassle of finding a parking space by taking advantage of the FREE designated parking lots and using the convenient, FREE and fun courtesy trams. Let us do the driving! (Lots are Kiwanis Park-n-RIde, Osceola Park Park-n-Ride, Sailfish Park Park-n-Ride, and evenings/weekends, Wells Fargo.)

◾ Remember to adhere to the 3-hour parking spot maximum. If you’re going to be enjoying downtown longer, move your car to a designated parking lot or in a spot not reserved for 3-hour parking. (Don’t risk a parking citation. 😱)

◾ If you’re parking a pickup truck on Osceola in the Historic Downtown central area, only park on the right-hand side. This allows emergency vehicles 🚒🚑and other cars to travel down Osceola unrestricted (left side parking spots are a tad smaller).

We wish you a wonderful weekend and look forward to seeing you in Downtown Stuart Florida, in the City parks, strolling the boardwalk, tonight at First Friday tonight in The Creek District of Arts & Entertainment and on Sunday for Market on Main and Rock’n Riverwalk!

Ladies and gentleman – now is the chance to heal your broken hearts! 😺💕

TNVR (Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return) is an extremely important program which helps stabilize the population of outdoor cats and improve their health overall. Our Humane Society of the Treasure Coast is the only shelter in Martin County that provides free TNVR services to free-roaming cats. This Valentine’s season, we are going to give YOU the chance to spay or neuter your ex! 🙂
