Port St. Lucie Police investigating a drowning of an 18-month old

Port St.Lucie, Fl- The Port St. Lucie are reporting they are investigating the drowning of an 18-month old.

Here are the details from the Port St.Lucie Police:

PSLPD Investigating a Drowning of an 18-Month Old

Officers responded to the 1200 block of SW Bellevue Ave.  in response to a report of an 18-month old missing from a home.  

The child was located in a pond adjacent to the home.  

CPR was initiated by officers and St. Lucie County Fire District rescue personnel.  The child was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

PSLPD is providing a victim’s advocate for the involved family. Critical incident stress management services will be made available for the officers involved. 

The investigation is ongoing at this time. Please avoid the area due to a heavy police presence.
