Second Miami Trio arrested for stealing recyclable cardboard

Port St. Lucie, Fl- The Port St Lucie Police are reporting that another trio came up here to steal. This time it was recyclable cardboard.

While you were sleeping last night, yet another Miami trio thought Port St. Lucie would be easy pickings for crime, but boy were they wrong.

A little while after midnight, the trio attempted to steal several pallets of recyclable cardboard from a Publix in the 9100 block of US 1. The cardboard is frequently sold to recycling companies for money.

Unfortunately for them, a witness foiled their plans by quickly notifying police. PSLPD officers responded and put out a be on the lookout (BOLO) for the suspect vehicle, a white box truck.

An alert officer from Stuart Police Department located the suspect vehicle traveling on US 1 in their jurisdiction. The officer stopped the suspect vehicle and detained the three occupants for PSLPD officers and detectives.

The three suspects, 58-year-old Ramon Garcia, 34-year-old Yuriel Garcia and 55-year-old Juan Garcia, all from Miami, were each arrested on 1 count of Attempted Grand Theft.

Further investigation revealed that the trio had stolen several pallets of cardboard all along the east coast as far north as Palm Bay.
