Stuart,Fl- Stuart Police reminding the public not to block the intersections.
Here is the information from the Stuart Police:
DON’T BLOCK THE INTERSECTION
Due to the roadwork along the US 1 corridor causing lane closures, we have seen an increase in vehicles blocking several intersections during peak traffic hours. The intersections with the most occurrences are US 1/Kanner Hwy, and US 1/Johnson Ave.
This is your reminder that blocking the intersection is a violation of Florida State Statute 316.1945. Not only is it a violation of traffic law, it’s also aggravating for other drivers.

If you are approaching an intersection with a green light and see that traffic on the other side is backed up, you should not be continuing into that intersection until you know there is enough space on the other side. If you decide to chance it and end up getting stuck in the middle of the intersection when the light turns red, you will also chance getting a ticket.
From me: I literally took almost the same photo yesterday. Those of us wanting to go south were literally stuck. Same things goes for train tracks. Stop before and make sure there is room for you on the other side.
