PSLPD: Fentanyl Dealer Sentenced to 15 Years for Manslaughter and Other Charges

Port St Lucie, Fl- The Port St Lucie Police have reported 32-year-old Edwin Thompson accepted a 15-year prison sentence in a plea deal for the charges of Manslaughter, Sale and Delivery of Fentanyl, Possession of Fentanyl, and Unlawful Use of a Two-way Communication Device.

On March 1st, 2024, at the St. Lucie County Courthouse, 32-year-old Edwin Thompson accepted a 15-year prison sentence in a plea deal for the charges of Manslaughter, Sale and Delivery of Fentanyl, Possession of Fentanyl, and Unlawful Use of a Two-way Communication Device.

Thomspon was arrested by Port St. Lucie Police Department Special Investigations Division detectives back in October 2023 on several felony charges in relation to the overdose death of 34-year-old Michael McGaffin.
