The plot thickens…
Stuart, Fl- Human skeletal remains found Wednesday behind a home on Southeast Riverside Drive appear to be “anatomically correct medical-grade specimen typically used for teaching purposes.”
Here are the details from the Stuart Police:
On Thursday, May 16th, the Stuart Police Department, along with Dr. Heather Walsh-Haney and her team from Florida Gulf Coast University School of Human Identity and Trauma Analysis, continued to process the scene where the human remains were found.

Dr. Walsh-Haney, an expert in the field, found that the skeleton appears to be an anatomically correct medical-grade specimen typically used for teaching purposes. The Stuart Police Department and Dr. Walsh-Haney’s team will continue excavating the area to ensure all skeletal remains are respectfully recovered. The circumstances surrounding how the donor ended up in the residence’s backyard remain unknown, and speculation will be avoided. A thorough investigation is ongoing.
We sincerely thank the more than understanding and cooperative homeowner, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, and Dr. Walsh-Haney and her team.
