Port St. Lucie police investigating a homicide

Port St Lucie, Fl- Port St Lucie police are investigating a homicide after conducting a welfare check and discovering a deceased man with obvious signs of visible trauma to his body.

At around 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning, police responded to a residence in the 1000 block of SE Albatross Ave. regarding a welfare check on 67-year-old Francis Devon Gennace. His coworkers called police after Gennace hadn’t showed up for work for several days.

Upon arrival, officers discovered Gennace deceased inside his home with obvious signs of violent trauma to his body. Police established a crime scene and the Major Crimes Unit responded and took over the investigation.

There is currently no suspect information.
