Martin County, Fl – A night at the museum ended with a morning in jail for a Martin County burglary suspect.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office said employees at the Elliott Museum on Hutchinson Island walked into work Friday morning and were surprised to find a man inside.

Here are the details:
Employees at the Elliot Museum on Hutchinson Island walked into work this morning to quite a surprise.
They usually are the first ones in and the guests arrive later. But not today.
Employees were surprised to see that 42-year old Jason Allen Dark of Port St. Lucie was already inside, and he wasn’t just admiring museum items, he was taking them.
Dark got into the museum through an unlocked door, and took full advantage of his after hours tour. When deputies arrived, Dark surrendered. Inside his backpack he had items he took from the museum, as well as a knife.

Jason Dark was taken to the Martin County Jail and charged with burglary and theft.
