FORT PIERCE POLICE CSU DETECTIVES ARREST 21-YEAR-OLD MAN ON WEAPON AND DRUG CHARGES

On December 9, 2023, while patrolling the northwest area of the City, the Fort Pierce Police Department’s Crime Suppression Unit (CSU) detectives heard multiple gunshots being fired. A scene was quickly located and a residence was identified as the source of the gunshots in the 400 block of South 22nd Street.

While searching for any possible victims, detectives began knocking on the front and back doors of the residence; however, no one answered the door. Detectives subsequently obtained a search warrant and made entry into the residence with the assistance of road patrol officers.

Two suspects were located inside along with (2) AR-15 carbines, (2) AK-47 rifles, (4) handguns (1 stolen), a large number of loaded magazines and ammunition, 4.5 pounds of marijuana, powdered cocaine and approximately $59,000 in U.S. currency. The investigation later revealed that one of the suspects, 21-year-old Jesus Pozos Pozos, had fired his AK-47 in the air behind his residence. Pozos Pozos was charged accordingly and transported to the St. Lucie County Jail.

“This is another great example of the outstanding police work by the men and women of the Fort Pierce Police Department,” said Chief Diane Hobley-Burney. “I am extremely proud of their efforts and the tireless work they put forth to keep the citizens of the beautiful city of Fort Pierce safe.”
