This happened 9:30 PM on Friday December 22,2023:

It’s happening now. My husband was at Indian River Dr and Midway. Car comes speeding down through stop sign and down embankment . A tree stopped the car from going into the water. Beer cans were allegedly being thrown from vehicles.  Spanish speaking male. It’s the same spot where a few other vehicles have gone over and had fatalities.

According to the witness they got out of car. Started tossing beer cans. Police arrived. Documented beer cans at scene. Gave field sobriety test. Neighbors on corner heard the crash and came out.

He also said the car flew past stop sign and went airborne. No one could climb down the embankment.

This is all we have until there is some kind of official announcement.

Why was the public not informed of this even with a stay away from the area post?

We are seeing less public safety posts from our local law enforcement agencies. Why is this?

  1. Still nothing on St Lucie County Sheriff or Fort Pierce Police Facebook page. We have no idea if the person driving the car was arrested. If you know anything let me know.
