Port St.Lucie, Fl- At about 1:30 pm today, Officer Krecic and K9 Jaxson were called to the area of SW Feldman Ave and SW Haines St. where the earlier escaped prisoner from FPPD, Ernest Lee Reese, was last seen.

Here are the details from the Fort Pierce Police:

ESCAPED FELON SOUGHT AFTER CARJACKING INCIDENT IN FORT PIERCE.

At about 12:55 a.m. this morning (February 26, 2024), Fort Pierce Police officers arrested 28-year-old Ernest Lee Reese in connection with a domestic violence incident and an outstanding warrant.

At about 6:33 a.m., an officer transported Reese to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital after he claimed to be having a health-related issue.

About an hour later, after being medically cleared, Reese fled from custody.

Minutes later, Reese carjacked a victim in the area of the 1200 block of North Lawnwood Circle. The victim’s vehicle was located a short time later in the area of Northwest North Macedo Boulevard and Northwest St. James Drive in Port St. Lucie.

The victim of the carjacking wasn’t injured.

Reese was wanted for aggravated battery, resisting an officer without violence, possession of a weapon by a felon, carjacking, escape and an outstanding warrant for failure to appear.

Reese was caught by Officer Krecic and K9 Jaxson in a wooded area in the 3800 block of Southwest Daisy Street, hours after escaping from police custody.

Fort Pierce police, Port St. Lucie police, the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Marshals were involved in the search.
