Port St. Lucie man arrested for Road Rage Gunfire

Port St.Lucie, Fl- The Port St.Lucie Police have reported that they have arrested a man after shots were fired at Sportsman Park.

Here are the details:

On Wednesday March 27th at about 1:40 pm, PSLPD responded to reports of shots fired at Sportsman’s Park on NW Prima Vista Blvd.

When officers arrived, only two shell casings were located, but there were no victims or damage to any property.

A witness provided a suspect vehicle description, a partial tag, and a suspect description.

Detectives eventually identified 23-year-old Jamie Luis Calderon Aponte as the suspect and through their investigation, they established probable cause to arrest and charge him with one felony count of Discharging a Firearm from a Vehicle and one misdemeanor count of Reckless Display of a Firearm. The handgun used in the incident was also recovered.

The investigation revealed that Calderon Aponte had been “break checked” by another driver in the parking lot of the park and he discharged the firearm in the air after becoming agitated.
