At about 9:20 am, a PSLPD officer conducted a traffic stop on a white 4 door Chevrolet in the 1600 block of SE Veteran’s Memorial Pkwy.

During the traffic stop, the sole adult male occupant fled the scene in his vehicle and traveled southbound on SE Veterans Memorial Pkwy.

The officer radioed that the suspect fled the stop, but no pursuit was initiated.

The suspect vehicle lost control in the 2200 block of SE Veterans Memorial Pkwy., crossed the median, and struck a silver Toyota SUV head-on that was traveling northbound.

The suspect then attempted to carjack a black SUV that was stopped at the scene of the crash.

At this point, PSLPD officers arrived at the crash scene and took the suspect into custody after deploying a Taser.

The two adult occupants of the Toyota were transported to the hospital for non-incapacitating injuries.

The driver of the black SUV was uninjured.

The 42-year-old suspect, Christopher Antone Brown of Riviera Beach, was arrested for Carjacking, Fleeing and Eluding, and Resisting an Officer without Violence.

He is currently admitted at a local hospital under guard and will be transported to the St. Lucie County Jail when he is medically cleared.
